Fisker Debuts Three New Electric Vehicles And An Off

Fisker is unleashing a quadruple attack on the EV industry with four exciting additions: Ronin GT, Pear SUV, Alaska truck, and the Force-E off-roader.

We've told you before, Fisker Inc. will not fail this time. The company's future looks even brighter in light of the latest announcements. The resuscitated manufacturer recently held the Fisker Product Vision Day 2023, during which it introduced four flagship models, each aimed at a specific segment. The competitively-priced panoply sends a clear message: Fisker is here to take over. The company's CEO, Henrik Fisker said so himself, when he laid his plans to conquer unpopulated EV categories within the next two years, before other carmakers can get to them. To that end, Fisker is releasing unique electric vehicles, with high ranges and low price-tags. During the event, the California-based brand notably unveiled its highly anticipated Fisker Ronin, the world's first all-electric, four-door convertible GT sports car with specs that directly rival the Tesla Roadster.

On the other hand of the budget spectrum, Henrik also announced that the Fisker Pear will now be priced under $30,000 (before the $7,500 tax credit), while also boasting over 300 miles of range. To everyone's surprise, the nascent automaker also introduced the $37,900 Fisker Alaska, which it boasts as the world's lightest electric pick-up truck. To top it all off, we also got to witness the anticipated Ocean Force-E, which is an off-roading variant of the flagship Fisker Ocean that is set to hit the market in the first quarter of next year.

The Ronin prides itself on being the world’s first four-door convertible, and boasts enough space for a total of five passengers. The scissor doors shown in the obscure prototype photos have thankfully been kept, and now gracefully complement the aesthetic ethos of the Ronin. While the small rear doors might look a bit odd, we cannot overlook their practical value. Subjectively speaking, the back of the vehicle sticks out like a typo that breaks the harmony of the overall design language, at first glance. Tastes may differ of course, and the Ronin is nothing short of impressive.

Despite its compact frame, the EV maintains the imposing aura of a performance car, courtesy of its athletic stance. The silhouette seems to be a “clin d’oeil” to the 2013 Fisker Karma. The car also harbors wide front headlamps, which are now set to become a trademark feature of Fisker. During the presentation, Henrik clarified that the company plans on departing from the traditional norm of chrome and wooden interiors.

Fisker plans on integrating the battery cells into the body of the car, to make it easier to achieve 600 miles of range. Customers can thus get the best experience out of the +1,000 horsepower all-wheel-drive GT, untethered by range anxiety. The carbon fiber hardtop, combined with active aerodynamic flaps, gives the roadster a fast and nimble frame that translates into a 0-60mph acceleration time of just two seconds. As of now, the Fisker Ronin is expected to enter the market at the end of 2025, while production will commence in early 2024.

The Fisker Pear is perhaps the most widely exciting addition, due to its unparalleled budget-friendliness. The name is more than a simple gimmick to justify the thematic design of the SUV, is an acronym that stands for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution. The cherry on top of the Pear is the alluring starting price of $29,000, which allows it to compete directly with the 2024 Chevy Equinox EV, and the reemerging Bolt EV.

Furthermore, Fisker also revealed that the Pear will be eligible for federal incentives, which would drop the price as low as $22,400, which would make it the cheapest electric SUV in the Western market. Besides the exciting price tag, the Pear will also carry some attractive design elements, including ultra-slim headlamps, an illuminated Pear badging, and a Pear-like, wrap-around rear LED tail lamp. The absence of side mirrors is notably glaring. Instead, the presented model had cameras on each flank.

The Pear also includes the quite interesting “Houdini Trunk.” Named after the legendary master of escape and illusion, the innovative system is equipped with a retractable opening mechanism that disappears into the rear bumper. This practically allows you to easily access your trunk space, even when tightly parked. As demonstrated during the presentation, the compact Pear offers an optional six-seat configuration, courtesy of an extra bench seat. The minimalist interior is dominated by a big center console, and generously filled with storage units. The spacious interior is complemented by a Lounge-Mode, which allows you to sleep in the car by retracting the front and rear seats. As of now, the first deliveries for the Fisker Pear are set to commence towards the middle of 2025, for the first-generation 2026 model.

In consistency with the outside-the-box thinking of the brand, the Fisker Alaska deviates from the norm of compact pick-up trucks, with a sportier, and more dynamic body. The bed of the truck also features a Houdini Trunk which gives you direct access to the interior. With the liftgate open, and the Houdini Trunk fully retracted, the Alaska becomes a 9.6-feet long, full-size pickup truck. In terms of range, the Fisker Alaska touts between 220 and 340 miles on a full charge. And, while such figures are usually not enough in the category, the truck is touted as being the lightest in the EV industry. If true, then we can expect some considerable improvements in terms of efficiency, and possibly towing capacity. On top of practicality, gimmicks are also at the rendezvous, with what has to be the largest cupholder in the automotive universe, and a cowboy hat holder in the rear cabin. The interior looks spacious enough, and includes a large infotainment screen.

To top it all off, the Alaska also includes a California Mode, all for a starting price of $45,400 before incentives. The final price with incentives is placed at $37,900, making it one of the cheapest electric trucks in the market, along with the Alpha Wolf, and the Tesla Cybertruck. Being based on the same platform as the Ocean, the Alaska will be able to enter production relatively soon. During the presentation, the CEO declared that he plans on releasing the Fisker Alaska by December 2024.

Presented in early 2023, the Fisker Ocean Force-E is the company’s first off-road SUV. The special Ocean variant rolled into the stage on August 3, fully draped in matt black, mounted on 33-inch wheels, and garnered 20-inch aluminum rims. The special package also includes extra-wide fenders, and a massive roof rack. To accommodate the heavy-duty expeditions, the Force-E enjoys a higher ground clearance. The chassis is further reinforced with a titanium plate to protect the battery from potential damage.

​​​​​​​For an extra fee, buyers can also opt for an optional interior package designed for challenging terrains and off-road expeditions. The extra features notably include rubber floor coverings, tie-downs, and even more grab handles. Under the skin, the Force-E is expected to churn out 550 horsepower, similar to the performance-oriented, dual-motor all-wheel drive Ocean. The exact pricing has yet to be revealed for now. However, more details are set to emerge by Q1 of 2024, when the Force-E is expected to make its grand debut.
